The diving

The area around Bunaken Marine Park offers a large number of dive sites, both around the various islands and along the coast, offering countless opportunities for varied and exciting diving. There is something for everyone, from beginners looking to make their first dives, to more advanced divers looking for greater challenges. The dive sites range from dramatic walls and current dives to simpler reefs, macro diving and even wrecks inland.

The Manado area is particularly known for its variety. Here you can experience everything from stream diving and wall diving to night diving, mandarinfish dives and wreck dives. The marine life is incredibly rich, especially at the macro level, with lots of invertebrates such as nudibranchs, squid and echinoderms. If you are lucky you may also see reef sharks, hammerhead sharks, mola mola, dolphins and sometimes even tiger sharks.

At Bangka Island in northern Sulawesi, the variety and marine life is even greater. Here you can find everything from nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and macro life to whales, dolphins, dugongs and various sharks patrolling the waters. The water temperature is around 27–30 degrees all year round, making diving pleasant regardless of the season. Here you can enjoy wall diving, stream diving, muck diving, simpler reefs, occasional wrecks and opportunities to see both large and small species.

Bangka Island is suitable for those who have a little more experience and are comfortable with currents, for those who have already dived a lot in Indonesia and are looking for something new and exciting. With strong currents often comes rich fish and coral reef life, which creates spectacular dive sites. Here it is common to see reef sharks, barracudas, schools of fish, turtles and sometimes larger animals such as whales, killer whales or dugongs. The macro diving is also fantastic, both at Bangka Island and at the nearby Lembeh Straits.

No matter where you dive in North Sulawesi, unforgettable experiences await beneath the surface, with both small and large species, dramatic coral walls and incredible biodiversity.

Here you will be greeted by a quiet and personal atmosphere. Perfect for divers, nature lovers and travelers looking for something out of the ordinary.
