Bahamas Tiger Beach

Bahamas Tiger Beach

Bahamas Tiger Beach in northern Grand Bahamas is best experienced by liveaboard. A day trip is far too short. This location is widely known for its clear and calm waters and is considered by professional photographers and filmmakers to be the best shark destination in the world. Here you will encounter tiger, hammerhead, lemon, nurse and Caribbean reef sharks. If you are lucky, there may be even more species. This diving trip is suitable for you and divers who have sharks high on their wish list. You who dream of meeting sharks up close, and we mean really close.

On the boats in the Bahamas at Tiger Beach, a so-called “open pool diving” or “open deck” is sometimes applied. This means that because the dives are so shallow, you can choose to do several dives per day during the day when you feel like it. As a guest, you are responsible for your own diving profile. You also have the opportunity to visit some of the islands. A liveaboard to the Bahamas is a powerful experience and fantastic diving trip. Contact us for your diving adventure in the Bahamas. These types of diving trips are quite special and often book up well in advance.

This is more of an experience than regular traditional diving as you spend most of the time kneeling on the sandy bottom and experiencing the closeness of these large, beautiful animals.

diving around Bahamas Tiger Beach

In the area there are other dive sites where you can also see plenty of sharks. The sharks are the focus of this tour but to get a little more variety in the diving you usually also visit these places

Tiger Beach

- Tiger Beach is located on the west side of the island of Grand Bahama. The location is world famous for encounters with tiger sharks and lemon sharks on white sand in shallow water. This location is ideal for underwater photographers. Here, in addition to tiger and lemon sharks, you have the chance to see hammerhead sharks, nurse sharks and bull sharks, which drop by from time to time.

FishTales

- Another really good place to see sharks. Here you can see lemon shark, Caribbean reef shark, nurse shark and tiger shark. The dive site is very close to Tiger Beach, but is a slightly deeper dive.

Lighthouse

- Not far from Tiger Beach you will also find this dive site, which also offers great chances to see sharks, such as hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, lemon sharks and nurse sharks. If you're lucky, you'll even see bull sharks.

Sugar Wreck

- This wreck is a 110 meter long steel ship that sank about 100 years ago. Here you can dive and see large green moray eels, huge schools of snapper, false loggerhead sea turtle, octopus and cod shark. Since the wreck is very shallow (7 meters), you will have plenty of time to explore it.
