Siladen Resort and Spa, Bunaken, Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia
The smallest island outside of Manado in North Sulawesi, Siladen, is located just outside the Bunaken Marine Park. Here is the lovely Siladen Resort and spa, which offers relaxation and vacations. Here, of course, you also have really good diving, snorkelling and also experiences and tours on land. The resort really offers a lovely atmosphere where you enjoy the beautiful reefs.
Built in 2001, Siladen Resort & Spa is an exclusive boutique dive resort. Siladen is a lush tropical island in the heart of the Bunaken National Marine Park, a marine protected area known worldwide for its rich waters and the epicenter of marine biodiversity. The resort is located on the west side of the island on a 300 meter stretch of white coral reef beach facing the Manado Tua volcano. Here you can enjoy magical sunsets all year round.
Full board is included in the accommodation and there is also a spa, pool, billiards, bar, a comfortable lounge and privacy for those who wish. Diving trips here are popular and ideal for couples and groups where one or a few do not dive but want to do something different. Snorkel the shallow plateau off the island or take day trips to the mainland.
Excursions and activities also on land
There you can enjoy everything from animals and nature in the jungle or in the highlands. Yoga, dolphin watching tours, try Indonesian cooking or visit markets or Manado city. Kayaks and SUPs are available here, and during a few months of the year you can go whitewater rafting.
Common to all rooms is that they are of a good standard. Here everything is within close distance and the large restaurant offers a wide range of local Indonesian and Asian dishes combined with gourmet recipes from Europe and the Mediterranean. Barbecue evenings on the beach are a regular feature during the dry season. Private beach dinners are also available upon request.
After the day's dives and excursions, you enjoy your holiday with a refreshing drink in the lounge or perhaps on your veranda in seclusion. The resort has about 20 rooms of different sizes and standards and several boats and the diving takes place directly with the own diving center. It is also possible to dive directly on the house reef, and especially night diving or snorkelling here is usually very good. When you are here in the area, take the opportunity to combine it with diving at Lembeh Straits or Bangka or Saronde Island.

Diving at Bunaken and around Manado
- Daily boat trips
- Wall diving, stream diving, snorkeling
- Wide range of PADI diving courses
- Beautiful pool and relax
The area around Bunaken Marine park offers a large number of diving sites, partly out at the various islands where Bunaken is the most famous island. But also along the coast there are countless opportunities for good and varied diving. Here there are both large and small and even wrecks along the coast. The diving is suitable for those who want to make their first dives and learn to dive. Also for those of you who have come a bit in your diving career or are a more advanced diver and want a slightly bigger challenge.
The diving around Manado is very varied. Here you can find everything from stream diving, dramatic wall diving to simpler reef and macro diving. There is also the possibility of wreck diving, mandarin fish diving and night diving. Here the marine life is rich and especially at the macro level. More fortunate indeed animals such as reef sharks, hammerhead sharks, mola mola, dolphins and even tiger sharks on occasion show up. Invertebrates are abundant and nudibranchs, echinoderms and octopuses compete for your attention.
Almost all diving takes place from a boat, but these are only day trips. Liveboard is very uncommon in this area.
