Cove Eco resort, Raja Ampat

Cove Eco Resort in Raja Ampat is located on Yeben Island. Yeben Island is a hidden gem in Raja Ampat that is known for its clear water and beautiful beaches, which has earned the island the nickname "Mirror Ocean". The island is approximately 50 hectares in size and consists of approximately 7 km of reef and 5 km of coast, of which approximately 3 km of white sandy beaches. Mangrove vegetation is also there with beautiful and strange marine animals.

With its relatively remote location in northwestern Raja Ampat, Yeben Island remains one of the most preserved areas. The island is surrounded by a 5 km long no-fishing zone which provides a high density of intact biodiversity. Here is a place on the northern part of Yeben that is very good for seeing and experiencing manta rays.

Here on the small island, The Cove Eco Resort is beautifully nestled on the north side of Yeben Island and sheltered from the south and west winds from the Pacific Ocean. Diving with Cove Eco Resort

The diving center here has several boats, three of which are used for diving and two for other purposes. Several boats are underway as well. Cove Eco resort offers diving and snorkelling and tries to vary locations all the time to give you the greatest possible variety.

There is a diving center here with well-maintained equipment to rent, but book well in advance as there are limited sizes. It is not always possible to get equipment so quickly here. Here you also have a space for the care and maintenance of your camera between dives. Nitrox will be available from October 2023 as planned.

Normally you do two dives after breakfast and then back for a relaxing and nourishing lunch. Then you can go on the third dive of the day after resting for a while and having time to digest the food. Also a fourth dive is possible later in the evening or early night. The waters here in West Papua are among the richest in species in the world and here there are fantastic coral gardens, walls, stream dives, with loads of fish and invertebrates to experience.

Few places in the world can even come close to the number of species of fish you have the opportunity to see here in Raja Ampat. If there is something in particular you are interested in, tell the guides and they will surely know where to look and try to find it for you. Here you can find everything from large to small, and it is common to see shoals of parrotfish, butterflyfish, fusilliers, tuna, barracuda. Sometimes also slightly larger fish such as spadefish, reef sharks, wobbegongs and even turtles appear from time to time.

Common with manta rays in Raja Ampat

Manta rays are frequent, especially in the mornings at "manta cove" and here they can be found pretty much all year round with the exception of September and January. Raja Ampat is unique and here there is an awful lot to experience and see so the time will fly by when you are here.

If you want to combine your diving trip to Raja Ampat with other places in Indonesia, we will arrange it. For example Sulawesi or the Moluccas with Ambon is easy to put together a trip with.
