Dive with Lanta Divers
Lanta Divers on Koh Lanta offers diving in some of Thailand's most vibrant and diverse underwater environments. The dive center has extensive experience in the area and will take you and other divers to places like Koh Haa, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. Places and names that for many divers are associated with crystal clear water, dramatic underwater landscapes and a marine life that constantly surprises. Already on the boat out you will feel the anticipation in the air. Once you slide below the surface a world opens up where colors, movements and encounters replace each other.
On the shallow reefs around Koh Haa you will be greeted by coral gardens where parrotfish graze, butterflyfish move in pairs and clownfish emerge from their anemones. Schools of fusiliers sweep past like blue and yellow clouds, while octopuses and crustaceans show off their colours and shapes. In crevices and cavities hide blennies, hawkfish, moray eels and various gobies. Turtles often surface to take a peaceful breath before returning to the blue.
When Lanta Divers sets their sights on Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, the diving takes on a new character. Here, the walls plunge into the depths, covered in the red and purple soft corals that give the sites their names. The currents attract larger species, and it is not uncommon to see barracudas, tuna and trevallies hunting in the open water. In the right season, manta rays glide over the reefs, sometimes in groups circling divers in slow, elegant movements. For those who are lucky, whale sharks may also appear here in Andathe sea of man.
The macro life is as impressive as the large. Nudibranchs or nudibranchs in countless colors crawl over the corals, small shrimps and crabs live in symbiosis with anemones and sponges, and in the gorgonians hide pygmy seahorses that require a trained eye to spot.
