Kri Eco Resort was the first resort in Raja Ampat to open in this region, already in operation in 1994. This is where Raja Ampat's reputation for its incredible marine biodiversity and diversity began. The resort is simple and is built in traditional Papuan style, no nails or screws but completely natural materials and almost all bungalows stand on pillars in the sea.
The rooms are simple, bordering on primitive but it really feels like being in New Guinea, far from everything. Toilets are of ordinary standard.andard but the showers are simple, so-called mandis, and the water is brackish to avoid mosquitoes. On the island a walk through the jungle away, there is also Sorido bay resort which is a little more luxurious and offers a completely different but perhaps not as genuine experience.
Get up in the morning and descend the easy steps directly into the sea. Enjoy breakfast with a view of the sea. The entire Kri Eco resort andas relaxation.
Kri Eco resort is simple, bordering on primitive, but the service is good and the food is very good. The resort gives a feeling of “New Guinea”, remote, simple, functional and back to the roots. You don’t need much more than this. The diving is done in the immediate area and it is also the area that offers perhaps the very best diving in the region. Up to three dives per day are offered by boat. But it is also possible to do a fourth dive along the house reef which is very rich in life. Diving takes place every day of the week except Saturdays which are a day off.
All transfers, as well as for almost all resorts in this region that are included in the basic packages, only happen a couple of days a week. Other days of the week there is an extra cost to get to the resort. It is not luxury accommodation here, the real luxury is being here.
