Diving in Bali is rich and varied but spread out. For those who do not want to stay at a resort and only focus on diving but want restaurants and shopping etc. nearby, you can choose to stay in, for example, Sanur. The diving here is carried out with All 4 diving and the dive center is located directly at the resort. They also have liveaboards in Indonesia so for those who want to combine a liveaboard with a few days in Bali, this is an easy combination to book through us. From Sanur, you then go on day trips to other parts of Bali to access the best diving. They can also arrange day trips to Nusa Penida by boat and come to these somewhat “wild” islands to primarily experience mola mola or lumpfish during the season and manta rays or devil robes.
Manta Point out at the southern part of Nusa Point is known for its grooming station and where manta rays come basically daily to get their "spa treatment".
The diving at manta point is generally easy and shallow where you mostly lie still and wait but you can also see stingrays and sometimes even various smaller shark species pass by. At Crystal Bay it is fairly common to see lumpfish in season but be prepared for cold water, sometimes down to 17-18°C in extreme cases although 22-23°C is more common. Here it is also very deep between the islands and you have to watch out for currents. Up at the northern part you have nice reefs and where you can often do current dives with lots of fish and sometimes even dolphins and whale sharks are seen passing by. Eagle rays and reef sharks are quite common as are turtles and lots of small marine life.
Further north you will come to places on the coast of Bali such as Padang Bai, Amed, Tulamben, Menjangan etc. which you can reach in 1-2 hours. You do two dives during the day and then come back to Sanur and Akaya Resort. The dive center also arranges diving safaris with accommodation at other resorts overnight while you experience diving in different parts of Bali.
Akaya Sanur Hotel in Bali is a great place for those who want to supplement diving at Nusa Penida for a day or two or just use it as a base for a few days of vacation and enjoy Sanur. It is a really good place to spend a few days if you are going on to Indonesia on a liveaboard, for example.
