Marsa Alam is a diver's paradise - with calm, sheltered bays, colorful reefs and some of the Red Sea's most legendary underwater encounters. Here are some of the area's most popular and accessible dive sites:
One of Marsa Alam's most iconic spots. Here you will often encounter large sea turtles in shallow water and have the chance to see dugongs grazing in the seagrass. The house reef offers both wide sandy bottoms and vibrant coral areas - perfect for all levels.
A protected lagoon with crystal clear waters and excellent chances for turtle encounters. The reef walls outside the bay are full of color, and the dive sites are suitable for both beginners and experienced divers.
A favorite reef south of Abu Dabbab. Here you will find reef walls, soft corals and plenty of reef fish. Dolphins sometimes pass by, which makes every dive a little extra exciting.
A crescent-shaped reef system where a local pod of dolphins often resides. Diving takes place along walls and coral gardens with the chance to see everything from moray eels to pelagic fish.
One of the area's most famous house reefs – right outside the Marsa Shagra dive camp. Here you can do unlimited dives and always find something new: colorful coral blocks, deeper walls and a large macro life. Perfect for relaxed, flexible diving.
Scenic and peaceful house reef with varied topography – from shallow coral gardens to deeper sections where larger fish and sometimes sharks can be seen passing by. Close to several great boat trips with the dive center on site.
The great classic. A deep, current-filled reef known for hammerhead sharks, oceanic whitetips and a dramatic underwater landscape. Recommended for more experienced divers – but is undoubtedly one of the Red Sea's most spectacular sites.
