A diving trip to Indonesia normally costs from about 30,000 SEK to, for example, Bali and upwards. If you want to travel to Raja Ampat, expect at least 50,000 SEK and upwards for accommodation on land and with a liveaboard you can go higher from 60 – 70,000 SEK and upwards, (with seven nights on board at least).

It is otherwise incredibly difficult to answer such a general question about how much a diving trip costs, more information is needed and above all the country is so incredibly large and it depends entirely on where in the country you go. There are lots of accommodations and liveaboards and standared and prices vary enormously as well as it depends on how much where and when you wish to dive. When is the best time to go to Indonesia?

Indonesia as a country has season all year round! The country is so big so you can always go here for good diving. Most places are normally very good all year round.

Indonesia has a tropical climate throughout and the weather is pretty much the same all year round. Being located on the equator, it is rarely exposed to storms and hurricanes, so you can travel to Indonesia all year round. Depending on where and when in the country you are, the weather can be completely different in different parts. 

A simple rule of thumb is that it rains the most from mid-December to mid-March. The warmest and least windy period is normally April – November. There are parts of Indonesia that are the exception to this and have almost the opposite season.
Expect rain showers to occur year-round no matter where you are – this is the case in a tropical climate. It usually rains mainly in the afternoons, evenings and nights. The average annual temperature is around 27-30 degrees all year round.

Note that it can vary greatly between seasons locally and regionally. For example, regions such as the Moluccas and Papua may have different patterns, while Bali is normally less affected by different seasons.

What can I see when diving in Indonesia?

Indonesia's waters are home to incredible marine biodiversity, with the highest concentration of coral species in the world and over 4,523 identified fish species, making it a global hub for marine life. Large pelagic species such as manta rays, whale sharks and hammerhead sharks, as well as other pelagic fish such as tuna, barracuda to truly unique species such as the Banggai cardinalfish and the truly strange frogfish and ghostpipefish.
The diverse ecosystems, from coral reefs to mangrove swamps, also house a range of invertebrates, including colorful nudibranchs, seahorses, and a variety of different and strange crustaceans and cephalopods. 

With an unparalleled diversity of coral species and formations, with the Raja Ampat region in West Papua and other surrounding islands forming the heart of the so-called Coral Triangle, which has the highest biodiversity of coral reefs on Earth, Indonesia is a source of almost inexhaustible underwater experiences.

Raja Ampat, the world's most talked about area in West Papua, offers incredibly good and varied diving from both resorts and liveaboards. Here you will also find Misool and Triton Bay which are lesser known but with fantastic diving.

Sulawesi, Komodo, Alor and the Moluccas

Sulawesi with everything from reef, muck and wall diving and encounters with large animals at several places on the island around Manado (Lembeh, Bunaken, Bangka, Gangga, Tompotika. In southern Sulawesi you will also find one of the world's best diving resorts, Wakatobi with the possibility of accommodation at a resort or liveaboard.

Komodo and Alor offer diving in flowing water and here you will find perhaps the world's most beautiful coral reefs. Resorts and liveaboards.

The Indonesian part of Borneo, Kalimantan, also offers good diving out at the Maratua and Derawan atolls. Exciting wall diving and plenty of big fish and large schools, but macro is also found here.
