Egypt has one of the longest histories of any country known to us. With roots along the Nile Delta dating back to 6000–4000 BC, ancient Egypt is considered the cradle of civilization. It was the site of some of the earliest developments in writing, agriculture, urbanization, organized religion, and central government.
The Sinai Peninsula has Egypt's highest mountain, Mount Catherine, which is 2,642 meters high, and the Nile River, which flows through the country from the south, is the world's longest river.

How much does a diving trip to Egypt cost?

When is the best time to go to Egypt?

Egypt is truly a destination where you can go and dive all year round. No matter when you go, you will have great diving. The main difference is the temperature of the sea and marine life. The best time to dive in the Red Sea in Egypt is, according to many, or more generally, during the spring and autumn. Then you have a pleasant balance between warm water, excellent visibility and abundant marine life. Summer offers warmer water for those who prefer it, while winter can be chilly with potentially strong winds and colder nights. Some recommend dry suits during the winter, especially if you want to dive a lot.

Large animals are often seen including schools of hammerhead sharks and pods of dolphins.
Egypt is also well known for its wrecks. Few places offer so many wrecks and so easily accessible for diving, which attracts many people to these artificial reefs every year.

Animals and nature

Egypt has a diverse and varied nature and rich wildlife, especially along the Nile, in the coastal areas of the Red Sea such as Marsa Alam and Wadi El, and in the desert. The “best” diving in Egypt is a matter of taste, but generally speaking the Red Sea is considered world class. Popular spots in the north such as Sharm el Sheikh, Ras Muhammad at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula and even Hurghada offer a mix of coral reefs, wrecks such as the famous SS Thistlegorm and exciting current dives at spots such as the Strait of Tiran and much more. For those with a little more experience, the southern Red Sea offers pristine reefs and opportunities to see hammerhead and whale sharks at remote reefs off the coast, such as the Brothers Islands, Daedalus, Zabargad, Rocky Island and the large reef system of St John. Elphinstone Reef is a big favourite with many.

A liveaboard in the Red Sea and Egypt is probably one of the first things that comes to mind as a diving trip for many people. Yes, there are plenty of liveaboards in Egypt, perhaps too many in fact. What sets them apart is often theandard and size. The liveaboards we work with are those we have visited ourselves and seen on site that safeguard safety, service and comfort.

For those who want to experience the best of Egyptian diving and really want to focus on your diving, you should definitely choose a liveaboard. It is worth noting that all liveaboards do not always match charter flights from Scandinavia but refer to regular flight solutions which may involve extra nights on site.

On board you normally do two to four dives per day for a week and thus live on board the boat. Of course you have full board on board and can enjoy and relax. Read more about our options. Of course you can combine your diving with liveaboard with any number of days at a hotel or dive resort. Contact us with your wishes on tel: 0301-22100 – Departures
